In Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate you can use your network files as well even if you are not online. You can do that by doing the following:
Open Windows Explorer (Windows button + E)
Right click on a file or folder which is on the network (for example on a network drive)
Click 'Always Available Offline'.
After clicking 'Always Available Offline' the following screen is shown.
Here the files and folders on the network and on your local computer will now be synchronized automatically.
After this process is completed these network files and folders are now offline available on your local computer.
